Chapter One:
I'm Tailbear, the younger sister of Lakebird. Our mother is one of the forest tribe leaders, as she is leader of the Woodland Elves Tribe, and I am her heir. As of right now, Lakebird and I, along with Hawkwing, Icefall, and Nightsky, are all travelling to gather water at the nearby river. I hung back as my sister took the front, as she was the leading of this small patrol.

Every way I looked, seemed like I was in a woodland fairy tail as almost every old building were crashed to the ground, with all of the buildings had their glass windows smashed and were overrun by vines and very tall trees and every other living things and homes to wild animals, the paved roads were cracked and grass and weeds growing tall. We had to cross the cracked road to get to the large River on the other side. I stood there for a short whole, watching the blue sky before joining the rest of the patrol.

"How's it going back there," Lakebird called behind her shoulder.

"Just fine," I called back. I noticed she had that gleam in her eyes, as she went back and forth between Nightsky and I. I narrowed my eyes at her, knowing all out I had no feelings for Nightsky as she did with Icefall, though...I know this newfound love interest will not last.

It took us a good half hour to get to the river. Icefall and Nightsky both carried the heaviest loads, as they carried two large clay vases. Hawkwing carried a medium vase and and a large vase. I wanted Hawkwing to rest, as he injured himself awhile back.

I adjusted my thin, golden hand armour placement that also held a diamond-shaped stone in the palm of my left hand. Lakebird and I found our stones near these lakes. It was believed to be powerful stones from Mother Stone. Lakebird has one too, though she's more hotheaded and tries to impress Icefall with it but fails with each attempt.

"Sister," I called, after filling my two vases.

"Yes, Tailbear?" She asked as she walked over, one of her vases already filled as the other was half full.

"What do you think will happen next? When Raven Lake Tribe arrived, we almost went into war," I said, calmly.

"They will come back," Lakebird said, filling her second vase to its fullest. "They'll probably send Raven Black or Owl Night."

"Raven Black is kind of cute," I muttered, but added quickly, "though, I don't care much for love."

"Our mother will eventually put you with someone," Lakebird pointed out. "But I do agree, you aren't the type to fall in love easily, and expanding our tribe with another by marriage is unlikely. Raven Lake is not the strongest tribe to make allies of. They're weak as it is."

I looked at Lakebird, but she was too concentrated on filling her vases. Icefall called to us, saying that they were ready to leave. I picked up my two vases and headed towards Icefall, Hawkwing, and Nightsky. We headed back once Lakebird took the lead.

"Tailbear," Lakebird whispered in my ear, flinging her whole body at me.

"What is it?" I asked, not bothering to look at her. "What has it making you wake me in the middle of the night?"

"It's Raven," Lakebird stated, worry in her voice.

I turned around, glared at her like she was insane. "Why is Raven doing here?" I demanded, keeping my voice low so our mother doesn't get woken up.

"He said he wanted to talk to you."

"He's a Raven Lake member, they should have sent their best warriors in the morning!"

"Yeah, but he's here alone," Lakebird had pointed out, almost breathing heavily. "Says its important."

I looked over to our sleeping mother. So sound a sleep and quiet, like a harerat in its burrows at night. Giving off a small, slight sigh, I followed my sister to meet with Raven Black. It had shocked me to know that he walked to the river, staying on the damaged road. The night sky was beautiful, only the moon and stars lighting our path with their slivery lights. Raven turned around when we had arrived.

"Welcome back, Lakebird," he greeted my sister before turning to me, "Tailbear."

"Raven," I nodded my head in greetings, though the pale silver light made it hard to see. "What brings you here in the territory of the Woodland Elves?"

"My tribe is planning an attack," he stated, worry hinted in his voice. "We are weak to fight, but protests were unheard. People are being punished for challenging."

"If you were aware, and your tribe leader still refused, challenge him," I sighed and shook my head. "There shouldn't be punishment for challenging the rank."

"My tribe sees that as shameful," Raven took a deep breath as he spook. "Those who are lower than the rank of leader sees that as pitiful and shameful that one is to challenge."

"That's ridiculous!" I almost shouted. "There shouldn't be as many ranks within the tribe. There should be at least four. How many ranks does one tribe have?"

"Six," Raven replied. "Leader, sentinel, warriors, hunters, elders, and omegas."

I shook my head yet again. Lakebird had looked at me, as if she didn't want this to happen. "For one tribe, there should be more people protecting and feeding their tribe than frolicking in the fields," I started, "I'm no warrior, yet I'm considered a hunter."

"I'm aware of that," Raven stated, sighing. "I'm almost considered an omega in my tribe."

Lakebird was silent for a moment. Usually she outbursts with rage for outsiders and trespassers, put knowing Raven is the least loyal to his tribe...

"Is there anything else we must know?" I asked, questioning him before my sister could. "War is nothing if it means us winning. Our warriors are well fed and strong, and the Raven Lake tribe, as far as we all know, is pretty weak."

"That's the thing," Raven swallowed. "Our warriors and hunters found supplies further down in abandoned human buildings in grounds belonged to no tribe. Our leader believes that this will be our greatest uprising. I see it as unless."

"How were there food when no human has been here for years?" Lakebird demanded. "Everything is overrun by plant life. Elks, deer, and harerats have grown in numbers since their disappearance of the area."

"I don't know, but our leader says otherwise," Raven shivered. I realized it was getting slightly windy, the temperature lowered during the night goes on. "But, I hope he is wrong. Our warriors have gotten slightly more weaker as the animals dwindle as the cooler whether hits in."

"We hope your hunters gets the deers and elks," Lakebird said, soothly. "We cannot risk sending our own supplies, no matter how much of a shortage."

"It won't be accepted, even if needed," Raven sighed. "Lou'a doesn't take hospitality lightly."

Before Lakebird or I could respond, a snapping of a tree brach made all of look behind us. "How many on watch?" I whispered to my sister.

"Don't know," she responded. "We must leave, now. Or alarm will spread."

Raven nodded and ran off towards his tribe. We stood there until we could not see him. We turned completely towards the forest, glancing around to see if anyone was around and slowly brought ourselves back to camp. We didn't see anyone on our way to our camp, though we knew we were followed. How did Lakebird know Raven was here? I wondered. I didn't hear her leave and she walked inside the tent with our mother and I. Maybe she was on night watch, and stumbled upon him?

We had hoped that our mother hadn't been told about our disappearance last night to talk to a rival tribe when morning struck. Guessing who might have followed, we glanced over at Hawkwing and Nightsky. Those two may be related, and very nosy, but they were almost considered snitches, Nightsky in particular.

Sniffling, I ate very little. I wasn't very hungry and Lakebird, Icefall, Lilyriver, and I were to go hunting - along with Nightsky and Hawkwing. Though, we only needed one warrior to watch over us, Nightsky and Hawkwing both insisted in coming which got me pretty annoyed.

"...we'll need elks and deer," Icefall was saying. "Smaller animals, like harerat, will be good for young. We'll need this if we're going to survive the winter."

"How about harerats and liars?" Nightsky narrowed his eyes at Lakebird and I.

"Nightsky," Icefall sighed. "Lakebird and Tailbear have done nothing wrong."

"Then explain why they were meeting a rival tribe?"

"It was probably a warning," Icefall nodded to us, which we nodded back. "Which means we may end up being attacked. Do you really want to risk being exiled from the tribe for being a snitch?"

"But-"

"No," Icefall interrupted him. "You will say no more! They are princess', they are also our warriors and messengers."

Icefall went on and on. I stopped listening. Apparently Nightsky didn't hear the first part of Raven's warning, which we haven't gotten around in foretelling. I doubt that the Raven Lake tribe is even planning an attack, from the thought of it. Lilyriver was silent for the whole hunt, until we got back to camp.

"Barely any elks or deer," she said softly. Her eyes watched as Nightsky disappeared from sight after hanging the deers we had cought, then turned her attention to me. "Who was it last night?"

"Hm?" I looked at her. She grabbed my arm and pulled me to the hunters den.

"Who was it last night?" She repeated. "Nightsky keep rambling about it and won't stop."

"Oh, that," I chuckled it off. "It's nothing. It was just Raven Black. He just wanted to know how everything was fine."

"Was that all?" Lilyriver's voice was soft at this point. "I mean, Raven Black should have been with a group instead of being alone and on enemy territory."

"Lakebird said she found him wondering the abandoned roadway and said it was urgent to speak with Lakebird and I. It's nothing to worry about," I told her as I went to find Lakebird. Lilyriver went to find where Nightsky had disappeared too, but ended up talking to Icefall instead.

So, for awhile now, I have started a new ask blog. It is based off of my fursona, Copper Fox. I don't know if many would care, it is still a new blog, and I don't know if anyone would be any slightly interested. I know that my art isn't great, but I'd love to hear your questions, even if they are here! I would love to answer some of your questions! Please, would you show me some support?
